B2B marketing in Bologna has a very specific audience: the companies of the Packaging Valley, mopeds, mechanical engineering and components, which sell machines and technical solutions all over the world. In 2025 the packaging machinery district exported less than the previous year, but grew strongly in markets such as China, Japan and the United Arab Emirates. The signal is clear: demand is shifting, and whoever reaches it first in the new countries builds the advantage of the coming years, while those who wait for their usual markets to bounce back risk arriving late.

To do that, you need technical content in the right languages, targeted campaigns aimed at buyers in those markets, and a website that turns visits into quote requests. As a B2B marketing agency, we support established manufacturing companies in the Bologna area, with a senior person as your direct contact from the initial analysis to the measurement of results. We were founded in Milan more than ten years ago and work with companies all over Italy.

What we offer companies looking for B2B marketing

Localized content for Asia and the Gulf

A buyer in China, Japan or the Emirates doesn't search with the same words as a European customer. We localize product pages, application cases and documentation for growing markets, with technical copywriting adapted to each country and an international SEO strategy built on real searches, not on machine translation.

Company videos of your lines

A packaging machine is best understood by watching it work: formats, changeovers, line integration, cleaning. We plan short company videos for your website, trade shows and campaigns, designed to be subtitled in multiple languages and reused by your sales team in remote negotiations, when the customer can't come see the machine at your plant.

Websites where the deal begins

Your website should guide the buyer from discovery to quote request. We design multilingual websites with paths organized by the customer's application sector, datasheets that can be viewed on any device, and forms that already collect the data needed to prepare a quote, with no pointless email back-and-forth.

B2B portal for spare parts and service

After the sale, the relationship continues with spare parts, maintenance and updates. A dedicated B2B portal or B2B ecommerce, built as a web app connected to your management software, lets customers order, browse manuals and open support requests on their own, even from the other side of the world and across time zones.

Repositioning a brand abroad

When a sector loses ground, like Bologna's mopeds in 2025, you need to rethink who you're talking to and through which channels you sell. With branding we realign identity and messaging, then define the digital channels for distributors and end customers in the countries where you want to grow, measuring the response of each one.

Tracked B2B lead generation

With LinkedIn campaigns aimed at technical and purchasing roles, and a 3D configurator for machines with many variants, you bring in more complete inquiries. We use AI and automation to qualify contacts and pass them to the right salesperson with all the information already collected, from country to type of line requested.

Exports and districts in Bologna: packaging and mopeds in 2025

The province of Bologna exported €20,408,930,470 in 2025 (+2.1%), of which €6,447,850,809 in machinery and equipment (+1.7%), according to the 2025 Import-Export data of the Bologna Chamber of Commerce based on ISTAT. Within this total are two districts tracked by the Intesa Sanpaolo Monitor of Emilia-Romagna districts (May 2026): packaging machinery, the so-called Packaging Valley, with €2,868 million in exports and third place among the region's districts, and mopeds, with €689 million.

€2.9 bnBologna packaging machinery exports (-5.6%), 2025Intesa Sanpaolo
€689 MBologna moped exports (-10.8%), 2025Intesa Sanpaolo
€6.4 bnMachinery and equipment n.e.c. exports, province of Bologna (+1.7%), 2025Bologna Chamber of Commerce
€20.4 bnTotal exports, province of Bologna (+2.1%), 2025Bologna Chamber of Commerce

Both ended 2025 down: -5.6% for packaging and -10.8% for mopeds, which hit -22.7% in the fourth quarter. The chart shows how the packaging machinery district performed quarter by quarter, again according to Intesa Sanpaolo.

The second quarter was the toughest, at -11.6%, while the last one marked a 1.4% recovery. But the most useful figure for marketers is another one: while traditional markets slowed down, Bologna's packaging sector grew in China (+49.4%), Japan (+184%) and the United Arab Emirates (+69.7%). These are countries whose languages, search habits and purchasing processes are very far from European ones, and a website designed for long-standing customers is unlikely to work there too.

This has three practical consequences for local companies:

  • new markets need to be covered with localized content and campaigns, not with the Italian website translated;
  • companies in declining sectors, like mopeds, need to rethink their positioning and international sales channels;
  • the Chamber of Commerce's digital voucher excludes websites and web advertising, so B2B marketing investments must be planned on other tools or with your own budget.

This isn't a picture of widespread crisis, since provincial exports as a whole are growing. But market shares are being redistributed, and in times like these, digital visibility in the right countries matters more than usual. Whoever gets found today by a Japanese or Emirati buyer has a good chance of becoming their go-to supplier for future orders too.

Case study: Miba, organic visibility for a precision manufacturing company

Miba is a precision metalwork company, the kind of supplier that works closely with machine builders. For Miba we handled web design, UX, SEO and a multilingual content strategy, with one simple goal: getting found by people searching for these services, including abroad, without relying only on the sales network.

+245%organic trafficSHM Portfolio
+211%keywords in the top 10SHM Portfolio
+24%keyword rankingSHM Portfolio
49%indexed pagesSHM Portfolio

In our portfolio we published these results: organic traffic +245%, top 10 keywords +211%, keyword rankings +24% and 49% of pages indexed. For a packaging or mechanical engineering company in Bologna, the starting point is the same: understand how buyers in each country describe the problem your machine solves, and build technical content that answers those searches, in China as well as in Japan or the Emirates. You can find the full project in the Miba portfolio.

There's one difference to keep in mind: Miba sells manufacturing services, while a Bologna machine builder sells complex machinery with long sales cycles. That's why, compared to that project, for a packaging company we usually add more content to support the negotiation, such as videos, documentation for the client's technical department and pages for each application sector. The foundation stays the same: findable technical pages, in multiple languages, measured on real traffic and real inquiries.

FAQ

Our FAQ section offers clear, concrete answers for anyone who has heard about web agencies and wonders what a team of professionals can really do for them.

For a Bologna-based machinery or components company, it includes localizing content for growing foreign markets, a multilingual technical website that drives quote requests, company videos of your lines, an optional B2B portal for spare parts and service, LinkedIn and Google Ads campaigns, and automation that qualifies leads. You don't need everything at once: with a free 30-minute audit, we start from your markets, your higher-margin products and the way deals reach you today.

Trade shows remain a key moment for many manufacturing companies, and that makes sense. B2B marketing makes that investment more productive: before the event it invites selected buyers to your booth, during the event it collects contacts in an organized way, and afterward it follows up with targeted content and proposals. Between one show and the next, it keeps inquiries flowing from the farthest countries, where a physical presence costs more and a good multilingual website works for you all year round.

Timing varies by channel and by market. LinkedIn campaigns can generate the first leads fairly quickly, while SEO in a new country needs several months to consolidate rankings, especially in languages like Chinese or Japanese. Machinery sales cycles are long, so we don't only measure closed deals: we set intermediate indicators with you, such as quote requests, qualified leads and traffic from target countries, and we review them at regular intervals.

As of 10/06/2026, they are all CLOSED. The Bando Doppia Transizione of the Camera di Commercio di Bologna, open September 10 to 17, 2026, excluded websites and web advertising. The grants for international trade shows in Italy, March 3 to 31, 2026, covered only participation costs. The Bando Digital Export 2026-2027, open from September 28 to October 5, 2026, covered digital marketing for export at 50%, up to €20,000. For future editions, always check the requirements in the official text before planning your spending.

We work with manufacturing companies across Italy, and the project we publicly document in the sector is Miba, in precision metalwork, with results measured on organic traffic and keywords. We'd rather show you verifiable work than a list of names. What we bring to a Bologna company is a proven method: market analysis, multilingual technical content, SEO and measured campaigns. We started in Milan more than ten years ago, and you get one senior person as your direct contact for the entire project.

With content that replaces, at least in part, a visit to the plant or the trade show. For a Bologna builder of packaging machinery or technical components, what works is short videos of the work cycle, sheets explaining formats, speeds and integration with existing lines, application cases by sector and guided quote requests. For machines with many configurations, we develop a web app that guides the buyer through the options. That way, someone discovering you from a new country understands what the machine does before the first sales call.
