B2B marketing for a manufacturing company in Emilia-Romagna now has to solve a very concrete problem: finding new customers in markets where your brand isn't known yet. Mechanical engineering, the heart of the region's exports, lost ground in 2025, and some historic districts ended the year with significant declines. Trade shows and your agent network are still essential, but on their own they no longer cover every country worth targeting, or get you found by buyers you haven't met yet.
As a B2B marketing agency, we work with established companies in mechanical engineering, automatic machinery, mechatronics, ceramics and components to build a digital presence that works like an extra salesperson: findable in your buyers' languages, clear on technical specifications, able to generate qualified requests for quotation. We started in Milan more than ten years ago, we work with companies all over Italy, and on every project you have a senior person as your direct contact, with no layers between you and the people working on your marketing.
When a market slows down, the first question is where to shift your focus. We analyze products, competitors and export data to choose the countries and sectors worth investing in, then define messaging and languages accordingly. If your company identity doesn't hold up internationally, we rework it with branding before spending on visibility.
An engineer evaluating a machine looks for data, diagrams, applications and references, not slogans. We design multilingual websites with indexable technical sheets, downloadable documentation and company videos that show the machine at work, where a PDF catalog can't reach and an agent can't be present.
For many manufacturers, spare parts, consumables and service are a recurring source of revenue. A B2B portal with private price lists, order history and manuals, or a B2B e-commerce store dedicated to spare parts, lightens the load on your sales office and builds customer loyalty. We develop them as web apps or on e-commerce platforms connected to your ERP.
Machines with many variants generate long email exchanges before a quote is ready. A 3D configurator guides customers through options and accessories, shows the result and turns the configuration into a complete request for quotation. Your sales team gets fewer generic questions and more deals ready to quote.
With LinkedIn campaigns targeted by role, industry and country, you reach technical and purchasing managers in the markets you've chosen, while an international SEO strategy gets you found by people searching for your product in their own language. Every contact is tracked back to its source, so you know what works.
More and more buyers ask an AI assistant for a list of potential suppliers before they even open a search engine. With SEO for AI, we structure content, technical data and references so your company is cited with the right information, and we connect your website to your CRM so no request gets lost.
In 2025, Emilia-Romagna exported 84,254.1 million euros (+1.3%), and machinery and equipment account for 22,576.8 million, 26.8% of the total (+0.4%), according to the Unioncamere Emilia-Romagna analysis of regional exports based on ISTAT data. The Intesa Sanpaolo Monitor of Emilia-Romagna's districts (May 2026) adds an important detail: traditional districts exported 21.7 billion (+0.2%), but mechanical districts fell 1.9%, from 11.7 to 11.5 billion.
Behind the average there are very different realities: mechatronics in Reggio Emilia, packaging machinery in Bologna, food machinery in Parma, agricultural machinery between Reggio Emilia and Modena, mopeds in Bologna, woodworking machinery in Rimini and machine tools in Piacenza, plus the tiles of Sassuolo, which at 3,777 million remain a benchmark for the materials industry. The chart compares 2025 exports of the main mechanical districts, from the same source.
Difficulties are not uniform. In 2025, Piacenza's machine tools lost 17.7% and Bologna's packaging machinery 5.6%. Intesa Sanpaolo points to central-eastern Europe, the Gulf and Africa as directions for diversification. Meanwhile, the United States, which accounts for 11.7% of the region's district exports, has become a more uncertain market amid tariffs and a weak dollar. For many companies, this means building a credible presence in a short time in countries where they have so far sold only through distributors or at trade shows.
For your marketing, this translates into three priorities:
There is no single plan for every district: an agricultural machinery manufacturer and a mechatronics company speak to different buyers, with different sales cycles and channels. That's why we always start from your sales data and the markets you want to open, not from a ready-made package, and we revisit priorities as the first data comes in.

| Bando per il sostegno a progetti di internazionalizzazione delle PMI e aggregazioni di PMI – 2026-2027 (call for support of SME and SME network internationalization projects) Regione Emilia-Romagna (PR FESR 2021-2027) | Closed | from 11:00 a.m. on February 24, 2026 (initial deadline), until 4:00 p.m. on March 13, 2026 | SMEs and SME networks in Emilia-Romagna: international trade shows, Temporary or Digital Export Managers, marketing and communication plans, B2B partnerships. 50% grant (up to 55%), maximum €30,000 for individual companies. |
These programs stand out because, unlike many others, they covered marketing services. Digital Export reimbursed 50% of eligible expenses, up to €20,000, for manufacturing SMEs based in the region, covering e-commerce, international SEO and SEM, digital advertising, social media marketing, CRM and marketplaces. Budget top-ups are expected by December 2026, so keep an eye on them and don't take anything for granted. The ERDF (FESR) call for internationalization covered international trade fairs, export manager consulting and marketing plans, at 50% (up to 55%) with a cap of €30,000 for single companies and €140,000 for consortia. If you're interested in the next editions, it pays to prepare your project early, but the eligibility of each expense can only be verified in the official text.
Miba works in precision metalwork, a field close to the mechanical subcontracting that feeds Emilia-Romagna's industrial districts. The project covered web design, SEO, multilingual content strategy and UX. The goal: get the company found by people searching for specific machining work, in several languages, instead of relying only on direct contacts and word of mouth.
The results published in our portfolio are +245% organic traffic, +211% keywords in the top 10, +24% in keyword rankings and 49% of pages indexed. It's the same method we offer to a machine builder or a components manufacturer in Emilia-Romagna: understand which words buyers use to search for your products and services in each country, build technical pages that answer those searches, and measure how much qualified traffic really arrives. Read the full project in the Miba portfolio.
For a company in an Emilia-Romagna industrial district, the work adapts to the type of product. Agricultural machinery makers will focus on content for dealers and contractors, food-processing equipment builders on application cases and videos, and mechatronics companies on detailed technical data sheets. The content changes, not the logic: real demand, pages that answer it, constant measurement.
Want to know which countries could bring your company new buyers, and which channels will reach them? Request a free 30-minute audit.
Our FAQ section offers clear, concrete answers for anyone who has heard about web agencies and wonders what a team of professionals can really do for them.
It includes choosing markets and positioning, multilingual technical websites with indexable product pages, company videos, B2B portals or configurators where needed, international and AI search SEO, LinkedIn and Google Ads campaigns, and CRM integration to track every inquiry. For an Emilia-Romagna company that exports heavily, the biggest focus is often on building presence in new countries. With a free 30-minute audit, we work out which of these levers make sense to activate now and which can wait.
Trade fairs are still where many deals get closed, but they last only a few days. B2B marketing works before, during and after: LinkedIn campaigns to book booth meetings with the right buyers, dedicated pages for the products on display, organized lead collection and follow-up sequences in the weeks that follow. In the months without events, SEO and campaigns keep bringing in inquiries from the countries you've chosen to target, so the trade fair calendar is no longer your only sales engine.
It depends on the channel. LinkedIn and Google Ads campaigns can bring first contacts quickly, but it takes a few months to optimize them and see which ones generate real deals. SEO takes more patience, because pages need to be indexed and earn rankings, but the results last longer. In industrial B2B, sales cycles are long, so we set intermediate indicators, such as quote requests and qualified leads, and we measure them with you from day one.
As of 10/06/2026, the calls we checked are CLOSED. The Bando Digital Export 2026-2027 was open from September 28 to October 5, 2026 and covered 50% of digital marketing expenses for export, up to €20,000. Budget top-ups are expected by December 2026. The regional call for SME internationalization was open from February 24 to March 13, 2026. It's smart to prepare for the next editions, but every expense must be checked against the official text before you treat it as eligible.
We work with manufacturing companies all over Italy, and the case we publish in the sector is Miba, in precision metalwork, with results measured on organic traffic and keywords. We don't list names we can't document: we show you the method and the published numbers. We started in Milan more than ten years ago, we know the pace and language of manufacturing, and on every project you have a senior person as your contact, with no middlemen.
The languages of the markets where you really want to grow, not every possible one. For an Emilia-Romagna company, English is the foundation, but if you're targeting countries where buyers search in their own language, you need a version written for them, with the right technical vocabulary and the units of measurement and regulations they use. A machine-translated catalog rarely ranks and shows little care. On the websites we build, every language has polished, indexable pages, and we add markets as inquiries confirm the choice.
