See what the people and companies who chose us have to say. Their experiences show the value of our work, every day.
Doing tourism marketing in Rome means competing in Italy's most visited city, where other hotels, apartments and vacation rentals sit a few steps from yours, all chasing the same guest. In a market this crowded, being listed isn't enough: you need to be chosen, ideally on your own website rather than on a portal that takes a commission on every night sold. With the Jubilee behind us, the city's growth is slowing, and the game shifts to occupancy, rates and brand recognition.
We work with hotel groups, well-established independent hotels and Roman hospitality businesses that want more direct bookings and a clear position against the competition. Every project has a senior point of contact who knows your numbers and coordinates website, content and campaigns with no middlemen. We don't offer a standard package: we start from how you sell your rooms today and who buys them.
In Rome, guests always have an alternative on the same street. Before talking about channels, we define why they should choose you: traveler type, neighborhood, services, tone of voice. With branding we turn these choices into a consistent identity across your website, social media and materials, so your group stops competing on price alone and a few extra photos.
The hotel booking engine is where a reservation is won or lost. We rethink your websites starting from there: availability visible right away, clear terms, real benefits for guests who book direct, frictionless payment on smartphones. Every unnecessary step sends a guest back to the OTA to complete the purchase, leaving you with the commission to pay.
Nobody beats the portals on generic searches for Roman hotels. You win on more specific searches: the neighborhood, proximity to a museum or a station, the business trip, the family with kids. With an SEO strategy we build the pages that answer these questions, in every language of your markets.
More and more travelers ask an assistant where to stay near a landmark or which hotel to pick for a city weekend. With AI SEO we make your content clear, verifiable and citable, so your property's name shows up in generated answers too, not just in traditional search results.
With Google Ads campaigns you cover searches for your own name, where portals buy ad space ahead of you, and reach people searching for Rome from the countries that send you the most guests. Meta campaigns focus on remarketing: they bring back to your site people who looked at rooms without booking and guests who have already stayed with you.
Quotes for groups, corporate events, questions in different languages at all hours: the front office can't handle everything with the same care. With AI and automation we sort incoming requests, prepare draft replies aligned with your rates and pass to your sales team only what deserves immediate attention.
According to data from the Ente Bilaterale del Turismo del Lazio published by Turismo Roma (Roma Capitale), 2025, the city recorded 22.9 million arrivals and 52.92 million overnight stays in 2025. Of those arrivals, 12 million came from abroad: more than half of your potential guests search, compare and book in a language other than Italian, often starting from a booking app.
Growth is still there, but it's slowing. Again according to EBTL, arrivals rose 3.42% and overnight stays 2.87% in 2025, after a 5.63% increase in arrivals in 2024. With the Jubilee year over, hotels and groups have to defend occupancy and rates without the boost of a major event, and every night sold through an intermediary weighs more on your margin.
To compare Rome with other cities, you need a consistent source. In the ISTAT, Statistica Today – Turismo 2024 survey, Rome is Italy's top municipality with 42,705,319 overnight stays in 2024, 9.2% of the national total and more than triple Milan. ISTAT and EBTL data follow different scopes and methods, so they shouldn't be added together or compared with each other: the chart below uses only ISTAT data on the main tourist municipalities.
What does this mean for a Roman property? The market is saturated: besides hotels, there's a very strong extra-hotel offering, and without a recognizable brand, price is the only lever left. Foreign demand is dominant, and without multilingual SEO and direct booking, international guests almost always go through an OTA. Finally, growth alone no longer offsets commissions. That's why the work we propose in Rome starts with brand differentiation and ends with the booking engine, instead of adding one channel after another.
So before proposing any intervention, we put your data next to the city's: share of direct bookings, guest origin, average length of stay, weight of commissions on room revenue. The comparison shows where your property follows the market and where it's losing ground to nearby competitors. From there we set priorities, which for a hotel in the historic center and one near the Fiera or the airport rarely match.
As of 11/02/2026, there are no open funding programs useful to Rome-based hospitality businesses: the Voucher Digitalizzazione PMI 2026 from Regione Lazio closed on 10/29/2026, and the Voucher Doppia Transizione 2026 from the Camera di Commercio di Roma closed on 09/22/2026.
| Tool | Status | Period | What it covers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Voucher Doppia Transizione 2026 call Camera di Commercio di Roma | Closed | from 2:00 PM on September 15, 2026 to 2:00 PM on September 22, 2026 | Micro, small and medium-sized businesses in Rome and its province: consulting, training and capital goods for digital technologies and ecological transition; vouchers up to €10,000. The list of eligible technologies must be checked in the call. |
| Voucher Digitalizzazione Pmi 2026 Regione Lazio (managed by Lazio Innova S.p.A.), PR FESR Lazio 2021-2027 | Closed | Applications must be submitted starting at 12:00 PM on September 30, 2026 and no later than 5:00 PM on October 29, 2026 | SMEs only, with an operating office in Lazio (large companies excluded). Predefined digital solutions with a fixed grant: Digital Diagnosis, Digital Workplace, Digital Commerce & Engagement, Cloud Computing, Cyber Security. Maximum grant of €50,000 (micro), €100,000 (small), €150,000 (medium). Whether the Digital Commerce & Engagement item includes marketing services must be checked in the call. |
An honest take on both. The Voucher Doppia Transizione was open to micro, small and medium-sized businesses in Rome and its province for consulting, training and capital goods tied to digital technologies and the ecological transition, with vouchers of up to €10,000; we haven't verified whether the list of eligible technologies included marketing or e-commerce. The Voucher Digitalizzazione PMI 2026, which closed on 10/29/2026, excluded large companies, so many structured hotel groups were left out, and it funded predefined solutions with a fixed contribution. The call's page doesn't specify whether the Digital Commerce & Engagement item covers marketing services: check the official notice before planning any spending. If you qualify as an SME, ahead of the next edition we can help you understand which parts of your digital project would fit the notice, but the final check rests with the text of the call and your advisor.
Spaesati is a tourism project in Tuscany, not in Rome: the same sector in a different region. We handled editorial design, keyword research, SEO, and social media and community management. There are no published numerical results, so we don't cite any: we'll tell you how we worked and why that method works here too.
We started by understanding how people really search for a destination, with which words and which doubts, and then organized the content around that, with an editorial design that makes people want to read and come back. In a city like Rome, where every property describes the same monuments, this is what makes the difference: pages built on the real questions of your guests, by neighborhood and by type of trip, and a community that keeps following you even after check-out. For a Rome-based group, it also means deciding which content to manage centrally and which to leave to individual properties, so the story stays consistent without becoming generic. You can find the project in the portfolio: Spaesati.
How much do you pay today in commissions for every booking that comes from a portal? Let's talk in a free 30-minute audit and work out together the first moves to shift demand to your own website.
Our FAQ section offers clear, concrete answers for anyone who has heard about web agencies and wonders what a team of professionals can really do for them.
Tourism marketing for a Rome hotel includes positioning against the hotels and short-term rentals in your area, a website with a booking engine that converts, hotel SEO around neighborhoods and travel motivations, content designed for AI assistants, campaigns on your brand name and on international markets, and automations to handle group and event inquiries. In Rome, positioning is what matters most: without a clear reason to choose you, every other investment pays off less. We set priorities together, starting with a free 30-minute audit of your channels.
By reducing the reasons why guests prefer a portal. Anyone searching for your hotel's name should find your website first, with clear rates and a real advantage for those who book directly. The booking engine must work well on smartphones and in multiple languages, because in 2025, 12 million arrivals in Rome came from abroad according to Turismo Roma, based on EBTL data (2025). Then the relationship matters: guests who have already stayed with you should be contacted again before their next trip, not left to the OTA.
It depends on who your guests are, not on a general rule. English is essential, because it's the language many non-native travelers search in too. For the others, we start from your management system data: guest nationalities, markets with the highest average value, countries where you want to grow. In Rome, where competition is strong in every language, it pays to focus on fewer versions that are truly written for that audience, with pages dedicated to the neighborhoods and travel motivations of each market.
As of 11/02/2026, the Voucher Digitalizzazione PMI 2026 from Regione Lazio is CLOSED: applications could be submitted from 12:00 PM on 09/30/2026 to 5:00 PM on 10/29/2026, only for SMEs with an operating office in Lazio. The Bando Voucher Doppia Transizione 2026 from the Camera di Commercio di Roma is also CLOSED: the window ran from 2:00 PM on 09/15/2026 to 2:00 PM on 09/22/2026. Neither was designed to fund campaigns or SEO: always check the official text before counting on a grant.
With a single marketing direction and a senior person as your direct contact. We start with an audit of each property's channels: how much portals weigh, where bookings are lost, which markets perform best. Then we define what stays common to the group and what sets each hotel apart, rebuild or optimize the websites, set up SEO and campaigns, and measure everything with shared KPIs. We were born in Milan more than ten years ago and work with companies across Italy, with no intermediaries between you and the people working on your project.
A lot, because in Rome guests compare your hotel with dozens of properties and apartments in the same area, often just by looking at images on a smartphone. Professional photos of rooms, common areas and services, together with short videos of the neighborhood and the on-site experience, help show why your rate is worth paying. The same images serve your website, campaigns and social media: that's why we plan them together with the content, so every shot has a specific use and tells the story of a recognizable brand, not just any hotel.
